What are some very specific groups of people you just cannot stand?

Furries. I just get uncomfortable about them, for some reason. These grown-ass adults dressing up as animals, but humanoid-ones, standing upright, with their weird cartoony eyes and colorful hairy bodies, weirdly overly cheerful expressions on their faces…

There’s a lot of denial, of course. They’ll tell you it’s all about “self-discovery” and “expressing themselves” or whatever. Cool story, bro. But why is it you get off on pretending to be a dog or a wolf, and draw lewd artworks of wolves, dogs and lions with purple manes boning one another? Just, no. I’ll go to my grave rolling my eyes at this crowd, sorry.

These creatures get together at conventions. Which is where another, rather nasty, element of the community comes to light — a great many of them are terrible perverts. Which is why many venues have started rejected such get-togethers.

There’s a creepy thing to me about the fact that you dress up like animals, while at the same time a rather large and vocal part of the community loves to engage in Caligula-levels of depravity. It makes me feel that, on some level, these individuals get off on animals. There’s an whiff of bestiality to it. And that absolutely disgusts the hell out of me. It’s kind of like those grown-ups who get off on wearing diapers. You can’t be into such things, I feel, without on some level sexualizing infants and being an infant. Or an animal, in this case. Innocent creatures who people should keep their hands off and whom no sane person would feel any attraction towards…

They’ll have their own “persona” which they — oh cringe of cringe — refer to as a “fursona”. They will talk in high-pitched squeeling tones, meant to be “cute”.
